The Bronzeville Development Corporation
Established and registered in the State of Ohio in 2018 as a non-profit organization incorporated, The Bronzeville Development Corporation (BDC), is a non-profit enterprise of The Douglas Foundation International, with a mission to eliminate "food deserts" and to improve the Health and Wellness of residents, through the support of community gardening, and to engage in activities that promote Youth initiatives that focus on nutrition, health awareness, energy conservation, as well as Economic Development, targeting families in the Bronzeville Community, a historically African American neighborhood just east of Downtown, in Columbus, Ohio.
Our goal is to establish a network of self-sustainable containerized greenhouse agricultural systems, using innovative technologies to grow organic herbs and vegetable seedlings year-round and to create an environmentally friendly compost farm, to serve as a Green Supply Chain source for urban and at home gardening.
This 501(c)(3) non-profit organization will seek grass-roots support from neighborhood leaders and collaboration, partnership and strategic alliances with other local organizations, Civic Groups, Colleges and Universities, Private Foundations, Corporations, Local, State and Federal Government Agencies and other Near East Side stakeholders to achieve these goals.
Join the fight by helping BDC in protecting our environment for the next generation, improving the health and wellness of our communities, and finally ending hunger and food deserts throughout central Ohio by donating today!
